Minneapolis, MN has just been designated the #1 high-tech city in the US ... it is also the site of Convergence 2005: The Future of Innovation, September 20-23.
Popular Science announced in its March, 2005, issue the rankings of top high-tech US cities, based on markers such as "connected citizenry" (use of cellphones, HDTVs, computers and satellite cable), transportation innovation, availability of high-tech job opportunities per capita, use of technology in education, smart use of energy and medical innovation.
"The winner: unassuming yet consistently innovative Minneapolis."
In addition to a high ranking in all categories, Minneapolis is the first city in the nation to bring emissions down below the levels prescribed by the Kyoto Protocol.
